“It is a dream come true for me to join the Government of Telangana as a Police Home Guard. I always aspired to do good for people with the inspiration of my father, Tank Bund Shiva. To finally wear the khaki uniform is the realization of a lifelong dream to serve the public with the same dedication my father has shown for decades. Growing up near Hussain Sagar, my life was shaped by that lake. For over 20 years, I watched my dad risk everything to save strangers, and for the last seven years, I have followed in his footsteps as a lifeguard. I learned early on that saving a life isn’t always a dramatic rescue; sometimes, it’s just about being there to listen.
My father’s legacy is in the lives of the 141 people he has rescued from the water so far. Over 25 years, he has helped those in distress and assisted the police in countless recovery missions, diving into dangerous spots where machines could not reach. Following him, I dedicated myself to this work while pursuing my education, knowing it provides families with closure during their toughest times.

While we focused on rescuing people, our family faced many hardships, from health issues to financial struggles. We did the work because we believed every life was worth the effort. Thankfully our work finally paid off when our story reached the Hon’ble CM Sri A. Revanth Reddy sir. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity he has given me. The government is also supporting us with ₹5 lakh aid, a 2BHK house, and a swimming pool project so my father can earn a living by teaching others.

I also thank the media and the public for their constant encouragement to my father and my family. I promise to work hard, rise in the ranks, and serve the people with honor.
Wearing this khaki uniform fills me with an immense sense of pride. To anyone feeling overwhelmed, please remember: “No problem is big enough to end your life over.” Life is a precious gift, and the toughest storms eventually pass. If you see someone struggling, don’t look away—sometimes, just knowing one person cares is the bridge that leads someone back to safety.”
