Our family has been living in these outskirts of Falaknuma palace for over 100 years now

"Our family has been living in these outskirts of Falaknuma palace for over 100 years now. Back then, our house was the only one in the vicinity of the palace, with a jungle in between. You wouldn't believe it if I say now, but we could see the palace from here...and all the dignitaries who visited the palace had to pass this way! It was a good past time for us to enjoy the view and cheer the people enroute to the palace. You can't even see a glimpse of the palace from this part of the town now...with a maze of constructions blocking the view and nothing to cheer about. In those days, this palace was a symbol of enormous wealth and royal heritage. We used to hear tales about the unparalleled and precious riches inside. For us kids, it was music to our ears. As years went by, the wealth was shifted elsewhere and understandably the stories stopped. All we have left now is this building, but it is still magnificent. I visited the palace a few times when I was very young and later in 80s when President Sri Zail Singh was here as a guest. It is a good memory for me. Now in my twilight years, I am glad people have made efforts to restore the palace to some use. As travelers keep visiting majestic Falaknuma (Mirror of the Sky) palace, glory of our Hyderabad history reflects in their joy and happiness". #FalaknamaPalace #Hyderabad #HumansOfHyderabad
