Take life as it comes

"For a girl who left her hometown (Banaras) and family at the age of 20 and moved to a city like Hyderabad with her husband, it was already too much to take. And then I get a call that my father passed away... I was devastated, to say the least. For weeks, I couldn't do anything.

As days passed, however, I got back to my daily routine - household chores, taking care of my kids… I thought I came to terms with the news, but I was lying to myself. I remember how I became in the following years - aggressive, tempered and emotional. I would look at everything negatively. I wanted to run away, never knew where but just wanted to leave! My husband then introduced me to an online course. It's almost unbelievable that a 3-day online course changed my behaviour, but that's true! It was all about positivity and how one needs to understand that you can't control everything in life. Acceptance and patience are the keys to living peacefully. It might sound preachy but it worked. I also started to meditate and took a few medical therapies for a while to deal with my depression. 

Five years later, I can proudly say that I'm an all-new human being. We all have to deal with problems but first, take a pause, breathe and smile. I've become more confident, outspoken..."
