“I was born in Bhoompally, a small village in Siddipet district, Telangana. Growing up in a rural setting, my exposure to the outside world was limited. It wasn’t until I pursued Engineering at Osmania University that I truly understood the vastness of knowledge, discipline, and leadership. Organizing major science conferences during my time there helped me develop a sense of responsibility and commitment to service.
In 1972, during my final year, I attended a session by senior defense officers. Their words ignited a spark in me. Until then, I had never considered a career in the armed forces, but that day, I felt a calling. Without hesitation, I appeared for the entrance exam, cleared the interviews, and passed the medical tests. In 1973, I was commissioned into the Indian Army.

My service took me across India, from the northeastern states to the high-security zones of J&K, where movement was restricted after sunset. Duty always came first, and we were ready for war within 24 hours’ notice if necessary.
In 1999, during the Kargil War, I was stationed at the Army Headquarters in New Delhi, contributing to strategic operations. I trained soldiers in weapon assembly, logistics, and combat strategy. But the true courage lay with the jawans on the front lines, who upheld the honor of our forces and made the ultimate sacrifices for the nation.
In 2003, we developed Windy, a multi-weapon platform, which was the first of its kind. It was showcased at the Republic Day Parade in 2004, a proud moment representing India’s technological strength.

After retiring as a Brigadier in 2005, I founded Palle Srujana, an initiative to support grassroots innovators in rural India.

Over the past two decades, I have traveled through villages as part of Shodha Yatra interacting with farmers and innovators, helping bring their solutions to national and international platforms in various parts of both the Telugu states.

Even today, in 2025, my mission continues. Service to the nation is not bound by time or uniform. Whether in the army or rural India, my duty remains—to contribute, innovate, and support those who need it most.”
