You might find it amusing but I got interested in music only after watching Veteran actress Vanisri play the Veena in a movie. I was learning classical dance then and gradually made Veena my priority. As my dad was in the army, we were constantly being transferred across states. I still remember the days when my dad took so much trouble and traveled a long distance just to allow me to learn music in small towns. I stood first in my BA music and even started giving public performances in various cities. But sadly, I had to put a pause to music to accommodate my marital life. It is here in Hyderabad that I got back to music again, when my husband took voluntary retirement and settled here. I ignored the gap of 16 years and put in a lot of effort. I became a grade A artist with All India Radio and many other organizations, where I am called upon for concerts. I also teach music both in person and online. Every time I see a new kid enrolled in my class, it feels like our culture and heritage got a new lease of life. I just turned 60 but the music in me can never age”. #Hyderabad #HumansOfHyderabad
