“I stand up wherever and whenever our National Anthem is played.
Loving my country and working for the greater good of our nation…these thoughts stayed with me for a long time. It was in 7th standard that I decided to join Indian army. I heard about Shahid Bhagat Singh for the first time then and the tales about his sacrifice for the nation left an indelible impression on me. My parents understood my passion and supported me throughout.
I am a junior under officer in NCC now, preparing for various examinations of Indian Army. NCC has taught me to be independent and face any obstacles without fear. I hope these qualities will help me in fulfilling my dream in the near future. Most of my time goes into my regular college work and NCC training. And the training only gets vigorous every year. But I do take time off once in awhile and catch a movie.
By the way, I watched almost all the movies and documentaries related to our Armed forces, including the latest one on Indian Submarine S21. While I love these movies and the great effort that is portrayed, for me the size of the contribution or the glory is secondary. If I can just show up in my Indian Army Uniform and stand up tall for my mother country, that’s a good enough start for me. Jai Hind!”
