Hyderabad’s Saroor Nagar Stadium was the stage for a historic celebration on September 29, 2025, as Telangana’s Bathukamma festival secured two Guinness World Records.
63.11-foot-tall Bathukamma (World’s Tallest)
The celebrations featured a 63.11-foot-tall Bathukamma, crafted from nine varieties of flowers and weighing nearly 10.7 tonnes. Built over 72 hours by 300 workers, it stood as the tallest floral stack ever created.

Adding to the grandeur, 1,354 women from self-help groups performed a synchronized folk dance around the floral tower, setting another record for the largest gathering of singing and dancing performances.

Among the attendees was Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, who praised Telangana’s cultural richness and said she was inspired by the festival’s celebration of women’s strength and unity.

Minister for Women and Child Welfare in Telangana,Seethakka noted, “Bathukamma is all about the unity and spirit of womanhood. It’s a celebration of Telangana culture that gives them the strength to shine, not just here but across the world.”
