“When my dad returned from the US, I would ask him for toys and merchandise. But he opened a suitcase and gave me a keyboard. He didn’t mention why he gifted me a musical instrument. ‘Enjoy, this is for you,’ he said. That’s the first time I held an instrument in my hand and that’s when I fell in love with music. More than keyboard, I loved drums. I wanted to be a drummer, as a child. My mom gifted me a bongo and I instantly started playing songs on the right beat! It made me feel like I was made for music. But as I grew up, I came across different genres that opened me up to more instruments as well. After drums and keyboard, it was time for a guitar! I spent everyday of my life learning to play better and trying film songs, independent albums and more. I also got a seat in a pharmacy college, but I quit a month into college. If I continued with science, it would give me no time to do what I love – music. Fortunately, my parents were extremely supportive. They wanted me to be happy and satisfied with my career. For the next few years, I kept thinking I should’ve started playing music professionally much early in life. But today, when I look back, I have no regrets. Everything happens at the right time for a reason. Also, it’s never too late to start over. It was a difficult decision to make – giving up on a guaranteed future with science and opting for my passion. But for me, it’s music over money anyday!”
