“I have a small family back in Uttar Pradesh. They live there, while I work here to make money. I migrated about 5 years ago because my friends said Hyderabad is a good city for small businesses. I live with them here and sell channa masala. Whatever money I get, I send some back home and use some here. Unfortunately, I couldn’t study, but I have big dreams for my children. I want them to go to school and study as much as they want to. I want them to be professionals in the fields they choose. Look at me: I’m living away from home and struggling with life. I want them to have a better life and give my wife and me shelter when we grow old too. Every time I go back home, I ask them to study hard and they promise to do so. I’m waiting for the day they’ll make it big, it’s the only thing I’m looking forward to.”
