“Diwali has always been a special festival for me. When I was in my hometown in UP, my friends and I would burst crackers and have a lot of fun. My mom would make delicious gujiyas – my favourite sweet! We usually wouldn’t have enough money for ingredients. So it was only once in a year that she would prepare them. Three years ago, I moved to Hyderabad for work. I try going home for Diwali every year, but this time, I couldn’t get enough leaves. Koi nahi (no worries)! These diyas that I sell will light up my day away from home.”
