“My name is Darshita and I am studying in class 4. Every time during the Sankranti Festival, my dad buys me new clothes and kites. Amma makes a lot of dishes at home but my favorite will always be Samya Paravannam and Garelu.
I wake up early in the morning, at 6, and greet my friends and neighbours with Sankranti wishes. Later, we assemble near the colony park to participate in the Rangoli contest. I like parrot muggu a lot with Happy Sankranti greetings in it.
We even participate in the kite flying contest and my father helps me fly the kites.
I like the Ben 10 kite but the Doremon kite is my favorite!
My grandpa always tells me to be careful while flying kites on the terrace. Last year, there were many instances where the pigeons, sparrows, and crows got injured because of the Manja so we decided not to use manjas while flying the kites.
When I grow up, I want to be a Doctor and serve the people. I want to serve the people in need of urgent medical care, just like the ones I see in the news nowadays because of the Covid 19 pandemic. It was a tough 2020 and I couldn’t meet my classmates for almost 10 months. Today, I am planning to meet some of my friends at the park so I am quite excited about it. I only wish this year gives us a lot of happiness and prosperity. I also learned that the vaccine rollout is happening on the 16th of January and I am so happy about it. I just hope things get back to normal soon.
