“I grew up with 2 brothers and a sister. We were a simple family with limited resources. At the age of 18, I began to work to support my family doing the goldsmith work in a shop in my hometown, Rajahmundry. I had done it for almost 8 years but every month, a large chunk of my earnings would go to the owner leaving me with a meagre amount. That’s when I made up my mind about starting my own business and decided to move to Hyderabad along with my family.
When we shifted here, we hardly had enough money and I was quite stressed about my decision. That’s when my relative suggested starting this mobile tiffin centre. I went ahead only to ensure a happy, and decent life for my family and I am glad that it worked.
It certainly includes some sacrifices, like having to wake up early in the morning, cook a variety of tiffins and come here by early morning, irrespective of the weather conditions. We sell different varieties of tiffins like Idli, Dosa, Vada, Uttapam and Mysore Bonda. My wife and I wake up at 2:30 am to make it all and I come here at 6:30 am and by 11:00 am, we’re sold out.
We have many regular customers here right from daily wagers to office goers who trust us and have their breakfast here every day.
Although I run this business for a livelihood, I am thankful to all my customers and the Hyderabad city as it has given me an identity of my own today. It makes us immensely happy and satisfied at the end of the day to serve hundreds of customers every single day.”
