(Note: Featuring Hemesh Chadalavada who’s a 15-year-old Web developer and an Innovator making web apps and innovations.)
Team HoH: Could you tell us what motivated you to work on your innovation – Alpha Monitor.
Hemesh: I wanted to help my grandmother. My Grandmother is one of many who are suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. She used to wander from place to place at abnormal timings i.e get up from the bed and used to walk away at midnight or early mornings without even the notice of the caregiver. She sometimes even used to wander outside of the home and got lost. This caused a lot of problems for her. I wanted to help her and all Alzheimer’s patients in general, so I started working on this innovation.
It is a smart wristband which monitors the elderly and differently-abled at all times and alerts their caregiver if or when there is any kind of movement or unusual activity. It also has health sensors to measure the patient’s pulse rate and body temperature and these updates can be sent to the patient’s doctor regularly.
Team HoH: Great to learn. How are you feeling about receiving the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2021? Tell us your experience meeting Her Excellency, Governor of Telangana, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan madam?
Hemesh: I am extremely happy and honoured to receive this award. Although I received many awards earlier, this is very special to me as the Government has recognized my skills and I think that this award is going to give a boost to my future projects and innovations.
It honestly seems like a dream to me for being able to talk to Her Excellency, Governor of Telangana, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan madam!
Team HoH: Were you passionate about innovations and web development programs right from your childhood days?
Hemesh: I started off learning about electronics from the internet – mainly YouTube. I first used to make small robots and cars and then started recognizing problems in our daily life. So I started to make innovations that would help the country.
Team HoH Could you tell us about the ones who supported you in your journey so far?
Hemesh: My parents obviously supported me whenever I build projects and my teachers at my school’s Atal Tinkering Lab are always supportive.
Team HoH: Could you tell us about your future projects? What is your message to the youngsters on the occasion of Children’s Day?
Hemesh: I am currently working on a project called SessionFix.com, which is a platform for hosting paid seminars. In the coming months, although I can’t reveal much but I can still say that I am working on helping online creators make more revenue and build a strong community around their content.
My message on the occasion of Children’s Day- I recommend everyone who could access to use the internet as a free place to learn. Recognise the power of the internet and act upon it! Internet is a great place to meet new people and to learn so many topics, your curiosity is only the limit!
