Team HoH: Hello everyone. Could you tell us the reason for your presence here at WE Hub?
Rashi: Hi, I am Rashi. I am here at WE Hub to be a part of the Girls in STEAM Conference, because I want to grow in Data Science, and I enjoy coding. Along with this, I am working on creating facilities for disabled school students.
Haasini: I’m here because I am really interested in coding. I feel this is an environment that will really help me flourish and grow. The Girls in Data Science program has given me a platform to expand my horizons.
Adya: I study in Keystone International School. I am not really looking for a career in data science as such. I am interested in law, but I wanted to see how data science could connect two different subjects. I am also interested to see how it could connect education, which is why my team’s focus is on uneven access to education for women in India, where we talked about different issues such as sanitation and literacy rates. We also came up with a solution for an app that refines Government data, so that NGOs can help these institutions and help women get adequate access to education.
Team HoH: What do you think about WE Hub. Do you feel Such Initiatives will help the youngsters in order to go out and build a career for themselves?
Rashi: Yes, I think it’ll help a lot considering that it is only for women. It would start encouraging women to put themselves forward instead of stepping backward.
Haasini: Yeah, I personally think that things like these are so essential to youngsters and me being only in 9th grade, I’m able to have all these opportunities provided by WE Hub. In my school and also in the society, I think it is really helpful in building your identity and a career from your early years.
Adya: I definitely think, it was a lot more interactive than I expected with all the guest lectures, and I feel like it has helped me develop a lot of interest in this field. Startup incubators like WE Hub are essential in cultivating interest in the Field of Data Science from an early age.
Team HoH: What are your views on Gender Bias irrespective of any field or Profession?
We feel feminism is a big issue, it does not only talk about women it focuses on the combined growth of a man and woman together without any bias. Moreover, when we are talking about gender equality, we should also remember the LGBTQ Communities as well. The spotlight should be on the overall combined growth of human beings as one rather than gendering.
