“Happiness often comes from the little things and our ability to see them for their purity and enjoy them completely. It has been a year since I started working in a pani puri stall at Old Alwal in Hyderabad. I am originally from Jharkhand where my father is a farmer and my mother helps him with his farm work. I had shifted to Hyderabad with my cousin to earn some good amount of money so that I can provide a helping hand to my family.
While at work we realized that hyderabadis craves pani puri and especially during monsoons the customer rate is high and they seem to be happy and satisfied and the smile on their face is what makes us happy. When we started this our income was quite low but when people got to know and recognized our taste we started seeing foot fall. With changing seasons, our earnings fluctuate.
Apart from this I didn’t get a chance to work elsewhere but if I do, I will surely manage everything and earn more for my family to meet their needs. I miss my home and hate to accept the fact that I live far away from them. Between all this chaos and emotions, I seek joy in little things, just like how people find in eating my Pani puri.”
