“I was 9 months pregnant with my first child when I wrote my class 10 board exam. By the time I was 25, I had 5 kids. Life seemed so monotonous. I remember fighting with my parents to not get me married. Even my teachers said I could do so much, but my parents didn’t budge. I tried to continue though long-distance education, but my dreams were shattered. In my late 20s, my husband and in-laws expected me to start earning for the family. That’s when I started selling Ayurvedic products with my mother-in-law. I didn’t want to do it for the sake of money. I wanted to understand their uses and sell them only if they really helped patients. I was skeptical at first and it took me some time to explore this field. I felt like it was a chance for me to learn again. Even if I couldn’t be what I wanted to be, I could do something with this opportunity. I began my small-scale research. It helped me so much. I saw how the leaves we sold helped patients get cured within three days, while antibiotics took longer and also had side effects. That’s when I took the business seriously. It’s been so many years since that day and I believe in Ayurvedic healing. I wouldn’t promote anything that I won’t use myself. In today’s day and age, when we’re living in a concrete jungle, Ayurveda is healthy and safe.”
