“I got married when I was a teenager to a person whom I loved the most. He was extremely supportive and never said no to my choices to date. Even though we didn’t have stable jobs, we always supported each other. My husband used to work as security in an apartment and I, as domestic help. However, things went down south when he had to stop working due to a major health problem and I was left all alone with four members to take care of.
Even in such hard times, I never lost hope and I started this food business to take care of my family. It’s been more than 20 years since my husband passed away. Well, I would say life is hard at times to handle but there is no point in living in the past. One has to move forward in life and I have been working hard to provide for my family ever since.
Today, I am blessed with wonderful customers from all walks of life across the city who visit my stall to relish the home-cooked veg and non-veg meals. Even though my stall is very small and on the roadside, people still visit my stall to relish the home-style food. I would say my customers are my strength and motivation every day and that’s the reason I continue to work hard every day, just to see the satisfaction on their faces.”
