“I am not defined by my disability but by my capabilities. This mindset guided me as I embarked on a career in para-sports. Despite losing my right arm in a tragic accident that occurred when I fell from the roof of our house at the age of six, resulting in the amputation of my arm due to complications, I got involved in cricket—a sport I’ve loved since childhood.
Hailing from Lingapur Thanda in Medchal district, where my family members are daily wage earners, it was challenging for us to get going. Yet, I refused to lose hope. Playing local league matches in Hyderabad and training diligently, I nurtured dreams of representing my state and, ultimately, Team India in Disabled cricket.
Losing a limb is a major challenge, both mentally and physically. Life post-amputation requires adapting to a new normal, and I am grateful for the unwavering support of my coaches, training staff, friends, and parents. The Board of Disabled Cricket Association played a pivotal role in enabling me to continue pursuing my passion on the international stage, with over 90 first-class matches to my credit. Apart from cricket, I also take part in volleyball tournaments.
Looking ahead, I hope for increased support and recognition from the government and sports authorities. My aspiration is for our matches to be televised nationally, allowing my parents to take pride in my representation of our country.”
