“My journey with art began at a young age, finding solace in painting as a form of expression. Growing up in a household where the value of education was paramount, venturing into the world of art was not the most conventional path for me. However, life had other plans in store. It wasn’t until my college years that colors truly came alive for me again. With the acquisition of my first computer, I seized the opportunity to delve into the realm of digital art, immersing myself in the intricacies of Photoshop through trial and error.
As I honed my skills in editing and color coordination, my passion for photography flourished. Even during my MBA studies abroad, I remained committed to my craft, capturing moments that resonated with me and refining my technique with each click of the shutter.
Upon returning home, I discovered the photography community of ‘The Hyderabad Weekend Shoots,’ where creativity transcended technicalities. Surrounded by fellow enthusiasts, I absorbed knowledge and experiences that further fueled my passion.
Photography has provided me with a window into the rich tapestry of cultures and traditions across India. Through my travels, I’ve explored every corner of the country, immersing myself in diverse communities and lifestyles. One recent journey to Varanasi allowed me to delve into the world of Sadhus, capturing their raw and authentic way of life, free from societal norms. Their rituals and meditative practices intrigued me deeply, inspiring me to explore the symbolism in their attire, hair, and beards. I couldn’t be more lucky to have had the opportunity to click pictures of various people and know about a myriad of cultures.
Among the numerous accolades I’ve received, two moments stand out as highlights: winning the national award and also winning the NatGeo award. My picture of a Sadhu in Varanasi performing rituals won a National award. Just when I was processing the win, the same picture won the National Geographic best photo award among 45000 pictures from India. These milestones validate the journey I’ve embarked upon, despite initial skepticism from my family.
Just like any other Indian family, mine too was skeptical about the field I chose. Over a period, they understood my zeal for the craft. Their eventual support has been invaluable, allowing me to establish my own brand, ‘Studio IClickYou.’ With the wealth of experience I’ve gained throughout my career, I firmly believe that finding fulfillment extends beyond mere financial success; it lies in aligning with one’s soul’s calling.
In addition to street photography, my work spans various genres, including event documentation, corporate shoots, portraits, product photography, architectural photography, baby shoots, portfolios, and more, all under the banner of Studio IClickYou.
One life lesson that I’ve come to appreciate through my journey is the importance of embracing change and stepping out of your comfort zone. There was a time when pursuing art seemed like a distant dream. However, as I took the leap into the world of photography, I discovered a universe brimming with opportunity and fulfillment.
Through embracing the unknown paths, I’ve learned to find beauty in the unexpected and strength in adversity. Life, much like photography, is a journey of continuous evolution, and it’s only by stepping out of our comfort zones that we can truly unlock our fullest potential.”
