“There’s something special about working with natural materials – pure Kolkata clay and natural colors. We feel grateful to create something that brings happiness to devotees while also being kind to the planet. Our idols are made from natural clay, grass, and colors, making them biodegradable – different from the Plaster of Paris ones. Every year, I’m joined by fellow artisans from Kolkata who come to Hyderabad for two months. We work tirelessly to create these beautiful pieces that showcase our city’s cultural heritage. But this year’s severe rains have been a challenge. Now, with only 6 days left until Ganesh Chaturthi, our Kolkata-style mitti Ganesh idols are finally ready, and they’re looking more vibrant than ever. We’ve spent over 45 days crafting them with love. Fingers crossed everyone loves them as much as we do!”
