“I have been a part of the ‘Koti Deepotsavam’ decoration department for the last 10 years. This year, the event is held from the 12th to the 22nd of November. We need to be alert all these days ensuring we provide the right decoration for the venue as per the day’s plan.
I have worked with a few movie production houses earlier, taking care of the housekeeping and decoration work in the sets, so, with that experience, I am able to manage our team here. There are around 60 people who are part of the decoration department and I guide them with the entire flower decoration process for all eleven days of the Kotideepotsavam.
Yes, I agree with the fact that we should work on the deadlines, but we thoroughly enjoy the decoration process considering the grandeur and divine nature of the Kotideepotsavam. Several thousands of devotees visit the venue every day and I feel happy to see many prominent personalities who take part in the event.
Things have been challenging for us for the last one and half years ever since the COVID-19 pandemic struck the country and it’s only through big events like this, where we could get some work to sustain ourselves. I have been the sole breadwinner for my family for almost three years now, as my husband was diagnosed with a major heart-related disease. However, he is here with me today, to help me in the decoration process. We thank the officials of Bhakthi TV for providing us with this opportunity to be a part of such an auspices event and we look forward to working hard to make the event a truly divine experience.”
