“On some days I fight with him, and on other days, he fights with me, but at the end of the day, we always care for each other. That love and trust are what keep us going forward. Yes, we have our share of problems in life but those don’t deter us from going forward in life.
Even though we were family friends, we weren’t that close to each other before our marriage. I never thought we would get along well but somewhere we knew that we liked each other. We have been married for 51 years now.
We both were farmers. We have our agricultural land of 2 acres in our village but we have decided to start a small business together during the off-season. During monsoons, we sell roasted corn, and for the rest of the year, we would continue farming.
By god’s grace, we are able to make our ends meet. Everything is fifty-fifty with us and our business. There’s no ‘he’ or ‘me.’ It’s always ‘we.'”
