“As we eagerly wait for the Sankranthi season, the excitement is building up for a spectacular celebration and a promising new year. Our family’s legacy in the kite business spans over 100 years, starting with the passion of my grandfather, who ignited the tradition of crafting kites.
The heart of our paper kites lies in the raw materials sourced from Ahmedabad and Indore, carefully transformed by our skilled hands into soaring creations that grace the skies of Hyderabad. From our workshop to the city’s retail shops, each kite, priced between a modest 2 rupees and Rs 200, carries with it a rich story of craftsmanship and tradition.
Beyond kites, our journey takes a delightful turn into crafting intricate Ganesh Murtis, adding an artistic flair to our diverse offerings. Despite the challenges faced in recent years, leading some neighbors to switch trades, our commitment to the art of kite making stands unwavering.
On any given day, we pour our dedication and passion into meticulously crafting between 200 and 250 kites. The cost of paper kites may be higher than their plastic counterparts, but our focus on quality sets us apart. Encouragingly, the last Sankranthi season witnessed promising sales, fueling our optimism to double our orders in 2024.”
