“As Ticket Examiners, we’ve spent years working at busy railway stations like Secunderabad, Nampally, and Kacheguda. Over time, we’ve seen the rush grow, especially during festivals and holidays. That’s why the inauguration of the Cherlapally Railway Terminal is an important step for the South Central Railway Zone.
This new terminal will really help people from Uppal, Ghatkesar, Nagaram, Malkajgiri, and the surrounding areas. They won’t have to travel all the way to Secunderabad or Kacheguda anymore. It’s going to ease congestion at the older stations and give passengers a more convenient option.
From January 7, 2025, trains including the Guntur-Secunderabad Express, Secunderabad-Sirpur Kagaznagar Intercity, and Kakatiya Express will stop at Cherlapally Station. Additionally, from March, the Chennai-Secunderabad Superfast Express will begin operations from this terminal. Additionally, a few special passenger trains to destinations such as Tirupati and Vijayawada will also be available soon for the passengers including several train station stoppages at Cherlapally terminal.
The facilities here are excellent—spacious platforms, waiting lounges, escalators, and even digital ticketing counters. It’s built to make traveling easier and more comfortable. But it’s also up to all of us, including passengers, staff and the authorities to keep it that way. We request passengers to avoid spitting, use dustbins, and keep the washrooms clean. Small efforts like these go a long way in maintaining the station for everyone. It’s not just about the station—it’s about making rail travel better for everyone.”
