“I have always been driven to uplift the underprivileged, focusing on kids as the cornerstone of my volunteering journey. Joining Teach for Change, an NGO dedicated to imparting English education in government schools, and contributing to the government-funded scheme Tholimettu, became my initial step.
The driving force behind my passion is the profound impact on these children’s lives. Recently, guiding my students to a talent event led to a proud moment as one of them secured a laptop, a valuable asset for her studies.
Undoubtedly, the journey posed challenges, with some government teachers resistant to external volunteers. Yet, overcoming obstacles, I persisted, and the recognition as the Best Volunteer of the Year twice in my 5-year journey affirmed the value of my work.
I extend my gratitude to organizations like Teach for Change for initiating such impactful programs. Moving forward, I am committed to sustained volunteering, aiming to contribute to education—the most vital tool for these children. Additionally, my vision includes addressing nutritional needs, ensuring these young minds receive quality nourishment for a brighter future.”
