I’m Sandy, a Cis Homosexual Gay who works with an MNC and founder president of Mobbera Foundation which works for sensitisation and uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community in various sectors from art, education, employment, and entrepreneurship to basic human rights.
Though we are living in a secular democratic country, a lot of our countrymen are suffering through slavery mindset that they are unable to forget the British era laws which discriminate against Sexual and gender minorities and as a whole community we are still thriving for our rights to education, right to employment, right to live the way we want. Almost everyone from the community needs a lot of emotional support because it becomes very difficult for a person to understand, acknowledge and accept themselves for who they are because there is nowhere they can learn about it and feel positive. Seeing lots of negative thoughts about it from family to friends to educational institutions, it is very important for allies and others to create a safe and emotionally stable space.
I reckon self-acceptance is very important, coming out is not mandatory but your representation plays a vital role in creating sensitisation and to all the non-community individuals, move out of your comfort zone to understand, accept and let others live the way one wants to.”
