“Had we met about 5 years ago, I would’ve said I want to be an actor only because I hate engineering. But once you start being in an industry like this, you tend to enjoy the work and fall in love with it. For a long time, I wanted to be a pilot, but things didn’t work out well. Once I joined an engineering college, I began to watch a lot of films. Around the same time, I played a small role in a theatre play for an inter-college competition and that’s where it all began. While I started working with a corporate, I also continued to act in plays with various theatre groups. I was still challenging myself to understand if acting was really my cup of tea.
My big break, however, was definitely Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi. Honestly, that’s when I realised what a break is. It opened me up to more opportunities and helped me reach a larger audience. What I love about my role is that it was one of the lead characters. I don’t wish to do films that don’t allow me to act much. I don’t want to be another friend character doing nothing. At the same time, I want to explore many options to understand what I enjoy the most. It’s been a long journey of looking out for opportunities, trying different things before reaching here. But this isn’t the destination because I have a long way to go.”
