“My childhood involved moving a lot, and with every move came a big lifestyle change. Starting afresh at a new school, and making new friends made fitting in quite hard, but thankfully I was very adaptable to change. I was encouraged to invest most of my time in co-curricular activities rather than academics. I was a good listener, but definitely not a topper. However, when it came to the creative field, I did excellently, especially with music.
Down the line, I realized I had a knack for teaching music to little kids. I could bond with a child over music like I never could with adults. This is probably because there’s a lot of politics involved in the music industry. I’ve never really marketed my music school because being approached by a child’s parents personally comes from a space of trust, and it most definitely makes me a better teacher.
When I moved to the USA, I wanted to learn something new. Life coaching came quite naturally to me; I found that I genuinely enjoyed this line of work. I made my own business plan from start to finish, and worked on getting myself certified.
The essence of my journey is that dreams change, but you evolve with them. Adapting to change is never easy but being open to the idea of it helps a ton. I have my parents to thank for that, and it’s something I want to pass on as a mother.
Right now, my family is my support system. My husband is the calm to my storm, and he’s taught me everything I know about love and humility. As for motherhood, my journey is as unique as everybody else’s. One thing that keeps me going is looking back at how far I’ve already made it. There’s no manual to life, and it’s so important to keep your heart and soul open to all mothers around you; to learn what you can, and tweak it to fit your value system.”
