“My friends and relatives make fun of me for being young and working in a food stall, “You are 21 and should be studying, hanging out with friends but here you are, cooking.” I know it’s funny, but I always wanted to start a food court ever since I was a teenager. I have seen many who earned high profits from the roadside stalls and the formula that I learnt from them is to ensure quality and consistency.
I have been working in this bread omelette food court for the last 4 years. I picked up the skill when I was studying my Intermediate course. I want to work here for a few more days and want to start my own food court business soon. I make all sorts of street food varieties with eggs like bread omelette, egg burji, burger, sandwiches, half-boiled and many others.
Coming to whether I have free time – well not really. However, I keep my mornings free to pursue other interests to keep myself motivated at work. I believe in planning so I am working towards my long term goal which is to start a food court on my own. I really think age shouldn’t be a problem until one has the right skill in the area which they want to pursue in life.”
