“For me, art is something that not just brings joy but also fuels my soul.  I’ve been expressing myself through the Bharatanatyam for the past 18 years and it has been no less than a rollercoaster so far. I joined Sri Rama Nataka Nikethan dance academy as a kid and my gurus Manjula Ramaswamy and Ramamorthy guided me, mentored me and shaped me to become who I am today. I practiced ‘Vazuvoor’ dance style under their supervision.

Dance is such an art, once you take a plunge, there is no looking back. Awards and rewards never mattered to me, all that mattered to me was my love for the craft.

Dance took me to places, quite literally. I had participated in different shows like Dance Plus, India’s got talent and many more. In my 9th standard, I had received CCRT Scholarship, which provides funding for my dance. In fact, I was one among the 4 to receive this scholarship in Andhra Pradesh. I had even managed to travel across the globe from US to UK for my performances. Nothing beats the joy of making it to the Limca Book of Records for dancing on an overturned clay pot with candle lights in hand for an hour.

Well, there is no life without a bit drama and spice, right? In 2017, when I got chosen for Dance Plus Season 3, I had to stay in Mumbai for four months. I came back home to learn that my name was removed from the admission list of my college. I had no choice but to wait for the admissions to open the next year. In the gap year, I chose to clear CPT exam and CA entrance tests. Nevertheless, I was proud of reaching the 6th position in Dance Plus.
Like they say, do one job for money and another for the soul. I work at Qualcomm for my bread and butter and dance for the soul. Besides this, I also help my gurus for different shows and programs. When I am not doing any of the above, I do a little bit of choreography. I love exploring and learning different dance styles.

My dream right now is to build a dance school and share my learnings with others. My family supported me throughout the process and I am quite proud of my achievements.”
