“For over two decades, I worked as a tutor for primary school children for my survival. I later moved to India from my hometown Kathmandu and took up a job that would give me a regular income. It’s been almost 5 years since I have been working as a security guard and also working in a hotel in my free time as a helper. Of course, staying away from loved ones is tough but I took that decision to provide a better life for them.

My job as a security guard is not easy. We have to be vigilant and responsible round the clock. My job is to guard this entire area apart from which I also look into maintaining a registry of the visitors.

I take home a monthly salary of Rs. 13,500. Though I have a few debts to clear, my job has given me a sense of responsibility towards society and people respect me for that.”
