“I was born without arms. One can only imagine how life could have been without arms. My life has been miserable from the time I was born. I am from a small place in Andhra. My parents were quite poor and we could barely afford one meal a day. I knew I had to be a parasite all my life. I really didn’t want to be a burden on my family. So, I ran away from my house without realising that I was making my life all the more difficult to live. I had no idea where I was heading in life. My childhood was traumatic.
I used to walk miles in search of food. I had no roof, food or clothes. Words can’t describe how mentally-painful it is to not have hands. I spent all my life feeling dejected. I do all the basic activities with my legs. My legs do the job of hands too.
A lot of people came to me, heard my story and promised to change my fate for good by connecting me to some officials but years have passed by without any help coming my way. I have lost hope now. I don’t trust anyone.”
