“I have never had a pet of my own, but I have been lucky to spend a lot of time around them through friends, cousins and neighbours. Over the years, I noticed how much effort pet parents put into caring for their furballs, and yet how difficult some things still were. Whether it was trying to find a suitable mate for their dog or watching their pets struggle with anxiety in closed apartment settings, there were real gaps and not many places offering support.
I come from a typical middle-class family and moved to Hyderabad after school for my higher studies. With over fourteen years of experience in the software industry and a few years working with a Singapore-based startup, I had the chance to understand how ideas take shape and how they can respond to real needs.
Entrepreneurship has always felt familiar to me. I grew up around it. My father had a strong sense of business, and his way of thinking left a lasting impression. That interest grew stronger with time. Watching shows like Shark Tank added to that curiosity, but what truly influenced me was my time at the Singapore-based startup. I learned what it takes to build something from the ground up. The effort, the uncertainty, and the discipline it demands became part of how I think.
The idea for Doffair came from a mix of that entrepreneurial interest and a personal connection to the struggles of pet parents. I began paying closer attention to what they were experiencing.

The more I observed, the more I realised how common the challenges were. Finding a mate for a pet or helping pets deal with loneliness in city life was not being discussed enough. I felt that if there was a way to respond to that meaningfully, I should try.
That is how Doffair began. It was never about creating a product. It was about building something thoughtful that could support both pets and the families they live with. Pets, especially dogs, are naturally social. They thrive when they have interaction. In cities, where most pets live indoors and spend long hours alone, they often develop behavioural changes. It is not just about mood. There is a biological basis to their need for social connection. After speaking with veterinarians and pet owners, I understood that the problem was wider than I had imagined.
We are building Doffair as a platform where pet parents can also find trusted services like grooming, training, medical care, and boarding. It also creates space for pet professionals to offer their services in one place. The larger vision is to build Doffair into something that pet families around the world can recognise and rely on.
In the beginning, people were unsure. Some thought the idea was too specific or difficult to scale. But I stayed focused because I knew the need was real. The support I received from my team, friends, and especially my wife and brother helped me stay focused throughout the process.
I hope to be remembered as someone who truly cared about pets and worked towards making their lifestyles better with simple, helpful technology.”
