“We sell different varieties of clay pots as per the customers’ choice.
Earlier, people used to come to our godowns regularly for buying earthen pots but nowadays, the sales have come down by more than 40 per cent because of the availability of other alternatives.
We would sell not less than two thousand pots during the summer season. But now, because of the monsoon, the sales have decreased. However, we try to come up with new designs to meet the customer’s preferences.
I have four people to feed at home, and my only source of income is this clay pot business.
With whatever little I have earned so far, I have been able to bring up my children and they are now pursuing their higher studies in the city.
I am thankful to my husband who has been supportive of my business. He’s an electrician by profession but he always ensures our well-being. I would like to continue working for a few more years and then take a break to explore other things in life.”
