“The pursuit of passion is a universal endeavor, guiding individuals to explore their innermost desires. For me, this journey began in my childhood, blossoming into a profound love for art. Despite holding a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and working in the field for a while, I felt a deep yearning for something more fulfilling.
Growing up in a humble family with five siblings, creativity was woven into the fabric of our lives. My parents, a skilled goldsmith father and a homemaker-craftswoman mother, instilled in us a reverence for art and nature. Throughout my school and college years, I was recognized for my artistic talents, fueling my desire to delve deeper into the world of art.
The discovery of Madhubani paintings in one of my children’s textbooks ignited a spark within me. The intricate patterns and vibrant hues captivated my imagination, leading me down a path of artistic exploration. Inspired by the principles of sustainability, I began to transform everyday objects into works of art, embracing the ethos of reuse, reduce, recycle.
Driven by a desire to create insightful artworks from the mundane, I embraced the concept of “best out of the waste,” infusing depth and meaning into my creations. However, it was the unwavering support of my husband, an engineer based in Andhra Pradesh, that truly propelled me forward on my artistic journey. His belief in my talent and dedication fueled my determination to pursue my passion wholeheartedly.
Over the past couple of years, I dedicated myself to mastering the techniques of Madhubani paintings. Appreciating my efforts, I was honoured with Tejaswi Kalaratna Samman for my art works organized by revival of Tribal & Folk art foundation recently.
Moreover, through summer coaching classes and online workshops, I am looking forward to sharing not only my artistic knowledge but also the sense of passion and creativity that art brings to my life.
I also work on customizing artworks that could be shared as return gifts for weddings and functions, adding a personal touch to each celebration. Each creation is a testament to the transformative power of art, capturing the essence of passion and sharing it with the world. As we celebrate the beauty and strength of women everywhere, let us continue to uplift and empower each other, creating a world where passion knows no bounds.”
