“Ever since my first year of engineering, I’ve been fascinated by technology and building things from scratch. That’s when I started learning how to code. By the end of my first year, I dived into cybersecurity, attending classes at a cybersecurity school in Ameerpet. But my curiosity did not stop there. In my second year, I started building applications. When COVID hit, I found the time to focus deeply on this passion, creating a mobile game and two social media applications. One of these applications was called “For a Day,” a platform where users could meet a random person each day and connect. The idea was to bring people together in unique ways. The second one, “Community,” was an interest-based social network where users could select their interests, join communities, and chat with like-minded individuals. Both apps shared a common goal: connecting people. After these projects, I founded “Buzzing,” which is not just another event ticketing platform, but a social media app designed to connect people in real life through events. I realised that while platforms like Instagram help us meet people online, they rarely lead to meaningful in-person connections. Meeting people in person offers a completely different experience, more personal, more authentic. So, Buzzing’s mission is to bring people together through events and create real-life connections. When you open the app, you see all the events happening in your city. You can check event details, book tickets, and even explore features like the “Socialising” button, where you can socialise in events. This unique feature lets you see and chat with others attending the same event. We have also added a group chat feature for each event, which makes it easier for introverts or those who struggle with one-on-one conversations to engage with others.Developing Buzzing was an exciting journey. My prior experience in app development helped, but there were challenges. Deploying the app for iOS version was particularly tough because I didn’t own a MacBook. After days of struggling to set up the coding environment on a borrowed MacBook, I ended up outsourcing that part to someone I found on Fiverr.
What started as a professional exchange turned into a friendship.Another challenge was onboarding clients. In the early days, we didn’t have any stats or a portfolio to show potential clients. Convincing them to believe in our vision was tough. My first breakthrough came with The Tree Stories Café. The owner saw the potential in Buzzing, and from there, things started to fall into place. Over time, landing clients became easier, and today, we have nearly 100 clients, including cafes, clubs, ievent organisers and with T-Works an establishment by the Government of Telangana. Managing everything as a solo founder was another uphill battle. I was coding, handling sales, managing marketing, creating content, and building the brand, all at once. Balancing all these roles was exhausting, but it taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance and time management.
Feedback has always been a cornerstone for Buzzing, I keep a dedicated notebook where I jot down every suggestion from clients and users. For example, a Reddit user pointed out that the app lacked an intro page to guide new users. I worked on that and introduced a walkthrough to help users navigate the app. Another client suggested including a booking feature to avoid the high commissions charged by other platforms, so we integrated that too. Today, I’m proud to say we have some of the lowest booking fees in the market. We’ve made continuous improvements to the app. Initially, the UI was cluttered with posters.
After a client suggested promoting event organisers more effectively, we revamped the design to highlight their logos and branding. This made the app more user-friendly and appealing to event hosts.Looking ahead, I have big plans for Buzzing. We’re introducing a customer loyalty program and exclusive offers on events. We’re also launching “Buzzing Originals,” a series of unique experiences, like workshops and events. In the next three to five years, I see Buzzing expanding across the country, becoming a go-to platform for building memories and connections through curated events.
My journey has taught me the importance of research, being vocal about your ideas, and genuinely believing in your vision. If you’re starting a new venture, don’t hesitate to share your ideas and get feedback. It’s the only way to grow and create something impactful. For me, Buzzing is more than an app, it is a movement to help people connect, experience, and create memories in real life. And that is just the beginning.”
