“When my dad started this business of importing toys and decor-related products, the market was very different. Firstly, there were fewer people in the field. What started off as a toy business, gradually went on to become bigger with interior designs and other import trade. Once I took over, I revamped the business with my ideas. Although I changed a couple of things that my father had earlier introduced, he was accepting of it! That kind of support and encouragement has allowed me to explore and grow.

Today, we have clients across the world in countries like China, United States and Australia as well. Each of them come from different backgrounds, so it was challenging for me to get the hang of it, initially. From the varying time zones to their style of communication, it was a tough ride. In Hyderabad, the city of Nawabs, we come for work only at 11 am, but most of these nations work from 9 am to 5 pm. Small details like this need to be adapted to. For us, it’s all about teamwork and learning from bad decisions. You can’t always make the right choices – sometimes, you do go wrong. And I believe that’s absolutely okay, as long as you learn from it.”
