‘Christmas in our home is always something to look forward to. From baking plum cakes and sipping homemade wine to decorating the house and church, the whole season feels warm and festive. The church’s Carol program is one of the best parts—it brings everyone together in such a joyful way.
The day usually begins with early morning mass at church, followed by a fellowship breakfast. Once we’re back home, we spend time distributing festive treats to friends and neighbors. By evening, it’s all about family—gathering with relatives, enjoying delicious food, and playing games that keep us laughing all night.
Last year was extra special because our parents surprised us with a trip to Singapore and Malaysia for Christmas. Singapore had been on our wish list for years, so it was an unforgettable gift that made the season even better.
One of my favorite traditions is Door-to-Door Carols. The youth group from church visits every home, singing carols and spreading joy, especially for those who are elderly or unwell. It’s a heartwarming experience, and the snacks we get at each stop make the long night even more fun.
As for New Year, it’s always welcomed with the midnight service at church. There’s something so peaceful about starting the year with prayer and reflection. And then comes the fun part—making resolutions. Whether we keep them or not, the excitement of imagining a fresh start never gets old!”
