“Music has always been a natural part of how I observe the world. Long before I understood technique or theory, I was drawn to sound, melody, and emotion.
During my school years, I didn’t have formal music training, but I listened closely, imitated songs I loved, and wrote poems in my free time. When I wanted to learn music seriously, I chose the self-learning route. After my 10th-grade exams, during a summer break, I began by understanding basic musical terms through an English dictionary — words like vocal, sound, and instrument. That curiosity laid the foundation for everything that followed.
While completing my Bachelor of Arts degree, I made a conscious decision to grow academically while staying connected to music. This led me to teaching, where I worked at Hindu Public School in Sanat Nagar, Shraddha Centre for Special Education, and St. Alphonsa’s High School. Teaching brought structure, clarity, and financial independence, while allowing me to stay rooted in music every day.
In 2005, I moved to Hyderabad to expand my opportunities. Starting fresh in a new city came with its challenges, but music gave me direction. Teaching supported me, and composing gradually became my primary focus, shaping my path as a music director.
I’m an introvert by nature, drawing inspiration from emotions and the quiet details of everyday life. Each composition begins with the director’s vision, which I interpret through my own experiences to create music that feels honest and restrained.
Growing up in Vizianagaram deeply influenced my musical sensibility. The legacy of Saluri Rajeswara Rao, along with voices like P. Susheela and Ghantasala, continues to shape my approach to melody and storytelling.
Over the years, I’ve composed music for more than 200 short films. My 100th composition, Okka Kshanam, and a SIIMA nomination in 2020 for Antharardham marked important milestones. Collaborating with LB Sriram Garu on several projects further refined my craft.
In 2023, my work was recognised by the India Book of Records. I’m currently working on a new commercial feature film scheduled to release in the last week of February 2026.
I believe meaningful work is built through consistency, patience, and respect for the process. When music stays honest, it naturally finds its audience.”
