“As we eagerly await the Sankranti season, our excitement builds for a spectacular celebration and a promising new year. Our family, with a legacy spanning over 100 years in the kite business, traces its roots to the passion of my grandfather, who ignited the tradition of crafting kites.
The essence of our paper kites lies in the raw materials sourced from different regions of India, carefully transformed by our hands into soaring creations that grace the skies of Hyderabad. From our workshop to the city’s retail shops, each kite, priced between 2 rupees and Rs 200, carries a rich story of craftsmanship and tradition.
Beyond kites, our journey takes a delightful turn into crafting intricate Ganesh Murtis, adding an artistic flair to our diverse offerings. Despite the challenges faced in recent years, leading some neighbors to switch trades, our commitment to the art of kite-making remains unwavering.
On any given day, we pour our dedication and passion into meticulously crafting between 200 and 250 kites. While the cost of paper kites may be higher than their plastic counterparts, our unwavering focus on quality sets us apart. Encouragingly, the last Sankranti season witnessed promising sales, fueling our optimism to double our orders in 2024. We’re excited to weave our own bit of Sankranti joy into each creation!”
