“When I met Vasumana at a party a year ago, it was the first time that I could talk to somebody about work, in Hyderabad. It was an instant connection – refreshing and welcoming. By then, I was done working for someone else- I had worked hard and become the head of marketing for a company at the age of 22. So I spoke to her about starting something new. In fact, I coaxed her into quitting her well paying job. Before we knew it, I was living in her apartment and we were working from the dining table. It was a crazy move but it paid off! Within the first few months, we were flooded with clients- overwhelmed, almost. We didn’t know what we were doing or how it would pan out but, touch wood, we haven’t looked back since.
I feel content knowing that we’ve come so far in just one year. We’ve done some great projects, including our first government project. We’ve come a long way, because of the way we support each other. We have different styles of working and balance each other out well. We know our strengths and weaknesses and help the other, when stuck. In the rare occasion that we have a creative difference and can’t reach a middle ground, we take a third person’s opinion to figure it out. Both of us are well experienced in the field. We feel that there wasn’t much in terms of PR in the city 5 years ago. It was basic, but the future looks bright. As a PR agency, we want to introduce this city to the kind of art, music and culture that we believe in. Fortunately, people are a lot more receptive to trying new things and opening themselves up to new experiences. We’re getting to choose who we’d like to represent and how we want to tell their story. We always seem to make it work. It’s been a rollercoaster ride, with all the hurdles. It’s the way we complement each other that makes so much of a difference. We’re a team – a dream team!”
