“My name is Indaramma and I have been selling seasonal fruits for the last 4 years. I buy these fruits from the Kothapet wholesale fruit market and my husband helps me with the transportation and arrangements. I sell all kinds of fruits such as pomegranate, apples, grapes, muskmelon, chickoo, etc. depending on the season.

I earn around Rs. 200-300 on a good day and sometimes, even less. I have had my share of ups and downs in life but I am thankful to my family members for their continuous support throughout. With whatever little we earned so far, we have successfully brought up our three children and today they are all independent in their lives, doing their respective jobs. I will continue doing this business for a few more years and then take a break to explore other things in life.

We did suffer financially due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic and the two lockdowns in the past, but I keep myself going, hoping for a better day, every morning!”
