“People notice me because of my height, but I’ve never made a fuss about it. Everyone’s built differently—some tall, some short, some lean, some heavy. As long as you do your work honestly and treat people well, that’s what really matters.
I left my academics early because things were tight at home. I joined a mechanic shop here in Hyderabad and slowly learnt the work—bike punctures, valves, tyre changes, and some basic repairs. Whatever I know, I learnt on the job.
After a few years, I started my own mobile tyre repair service near Tilak Road, beside the BSNL office in Abids. It’s been almost 15 years now. I carry all the tools, a small air tank, and sometimes even a spare tyre. My day starts early and goes on till evening, but if someone calls at night, I try to help if I can.
Abids, Nampally, Koti—these areas have their own charm. The Irani chai spots, old bookshops, roadside vendors, theatre boards… sab kuch nostalgia hai. After work, I like to relax with local friends, chatting or watching a film in a single-screen theatre.
Through this work, I’ve made so many friendships. Some people stop by just to say hello or have a quick chat. That connection means a lot. I don’t run after luxuries. I mind my work and enjoy what I do. Bas, wohi kaafi hai.”
