“I come from a defence family background, which meant frequent postings and the chance to discover the beauty of India. It will take a lifetime to truly know the essence of this country. Studying in Army Schools across the country taught me discipline, time management, and accountability. Women empowerment has fascinated me since my college days. Studying at Mount Carmel College, an all-women’s college back in 2002, exposed me to different aspects of womanhood.
I write stories highlighting the importance of being a woman and the need for space and freedom to explore oneself as an individual.
My book “Meghna” is a testament to this. It’s a short story that delves into the world of theatre, following the journey of a passionate artist as she navigates the complexities of spotlights, emotions, and the pursuit of artistic truth.
Balancing my management career and passion for the arts has been rewarding. I started exploring creative arts at the age of 4, and I am equally passionate about my career as a Marketing Manager. By day, I handle marketing tasks; by evening, I become a theatre artist. I put my heart into whatever I’m doing, whether it’s professional or personal.
Writing began as a healing process for me, and I never thought I would become an author. The journey has been amazing, and I feel blessed that readers connect with my work. Working on the process of my books, especially”The Mind Game”, “Meghna”, “7 Vows of Marriage”, and “Reminiscence” are really close to me. My recent publication, an anthology contribution, talks about breaking stereotypes.
I often explore human behavior in my work. Questions like what makes us different from animals and how humans have evolved intrigue me. These questions drive my writing and acting. I like to observe and think deeply about these topics. Whenever a good idea strikes, I jot it down quickly. I always carry a notebook and pen to capture these thoughts.
Currently, I’m working on my next book about Color Psychology. The research is done, and I’ve finished two chapters. Once my theatre commitments are over, I plan to focus on finishing the book.”
