“I saw many birds dying while other wildlife found no water and fodder. However, I saw the people in towns and villages chopping off trees indiscriminately and unaware of their danger in the name of urbanization. That’s when I made up my mind to create awareness of planting trees with my Cycle Yatra.
I then decided to spend a considerable time planting trees and also took up the educative sessions to sensitise people on sustainable development.
My first Cycle Yatra was from my hometown Sangareddy to Ladakh but I had to end it midway after reaching Kulu due to unprecedented circumstances and lack of finances. I was even attacked near Delhi by strangers and moreover, my luggage and cycle were robbed along with halfway to Delhi. It was quite unfortunate but I am still determined to complete the journey.
This time, I have begun my cycle yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir travelling almost 15,000 km. My cycle yatra was flagged off by the Home Minister of Telangana, Mohamood Ali sir recently and I have started my trip.
My goal is to plant 1 lakh trees by 2024 and I am determined to complete my Yatra. I am looking for the support of people to support this journey and I shall do it, not just for my personal interest, but for the betterment of the environment around us!”
