“I manage this stall all alone. I come here early in the morning to sell the seasonal fruits. It is my every day routine. The speciality of this fruit is that it available only once in a year, that too in the months of June and July. It’s called Neredu Pandu in local language (black plum). These are seasonal fruits and has numerous benefits. Doctors suggest it is also good for Diabetics.
Around noon, I go home to attend the household chores and then come back here. A few years back when my husband passed away with a major health issue. We were helpless and I couldn’t help him – I was uneducated and naive. That’s when I had decided to take up my family’s responsibility on my shoulders. I would get up at 6 a.m, cook for everyone, and start selling fruits until 9:30 pm.
Now, I feel grateful that my children got settled in their lives. I guess that’s what the well being of your family does – you feel invincible when it’s their happiness on the line. It’s been almost 15 years since I began my business. Now, I can’t even imagine quitting.”
