“When it comes to my journey in pursuing acting as a career, my passion for this craft ignited when I was just 15 years old. However, at that tender age, it was more of a budding interest rather than a full understanding of what acting truly entailed. Fast forward to my time at VIT Chennai, where I was studying engineering, it was there that I stumbled upon a drama club on campus. I decided to audition, even though my first attempt didn’t exactly set the stage on fire. Yet, with the guidance and support of my seniors and fellow theater enthusiasts, I began to develop my skills. As I delved deeper into plays and directors started offering me roles directly, bypassing auditions, I began to realize that perhaps I had a natural aptitude for acting. This encouragement fueled my belief that I could hone this craft and take it to greater heights.
Moving into the acting sphere, I found myself drawn to both the digital space and the Telugu film industry, managing to make an impact within a relatively short period. The transition to Hyderabad wasn’t a major shift for me, having spent time in Bangalore and Hyderabad previously. However, the initial days did pose challenges. Auditioning for ‘Chai Biscuit’ was fortuitous timing, and the struggle initially lay in understanding the professional dynamics of the industry. Adapting from a friendly college drama club atmosphere to a professional setting was a learning curve. Navigating opinions and industry norms, particularly regarding appearance, was also a challenge.
Regarding my character in the webseries’30 w 21,’ it unquestionably marked a turning point in my career. The success of that project opened doors, familiarizing me with filmmakers and granting me the privilege to select content-driven scripts. In the early stages of one’s career, choices are often constrained, but this success broadened my spectrum of options. I cherish the responsibility of choosing scripts carefully, mindful of the audience’s trust and appreciation.
With regards to my very recent release ‘Arthamainda Arun Kumar,’ it’s a story that resonates deeply in subtle emotions and characterization. I played the character of a girl next door, which is very subtle yet engaging. It certainly brought me many accolades during its recent release on AHA, and I thoroughly enjoyed working in the process of this project.
I certainly believe in choosing scripts that I personally enjoy—ones I would watch and appreciate as an audience. I consider the value of time the audience invests and ensure the script is engaging, devoid of redundant scenes, and tells a beautiful story. The experience has been enriched by a fantastic team, and I’m excited for the series to be unveiled.
Lastly, in terms of family support, my parents and the entire family have been my pillars of strength throughout this journey. Initially, they were apprehensive, as any parent might be when their child steps into a field known for its challenges. However, with each success, their support has grown stronger. They celebrated my achievements and have been my constant cheerleaders, always encouraging me to pursue my dreams wholeheartedly. Their belief in me fuels my determination to excel in this chosen path.”
