“Motherhood changed me in ways I never expected.
Early in my pregnancy, I was terrified of labour and delivery. To help me overcome that fear, my doctor suggested the Garbh Sanskar program by iMumz, and my husband, Prasanth, made sure I joined. Through prenatal yoga, calming music, reading, and mindfulness practices, I slowly transformed from an anxious mother-to-be into someone who welcomed motherhood with peace and confidence.
One book that stayed with me was Talking to the Baby in the Womb by Dr. Andal. Over time, I began feeling deeply connected to the little life growing inside me. Every tiny kick felt meaningful, as though my baby was trying to communicate with me. That journey changed my perspective on motherhood and life itself. I will always be grateful to Dr. Sindhuri, my husband Prasanth, and the iMumz team for helping me embrace this phase with joy and a more selfless heart.

After my baby was born, I realised I was producing more milk than my child needed. Because I had completed my Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), I already knew about human milk banks and how important donated breast milk is for premature babies. I also often heard stories of mothers throwing away excess milk simply because they didn’t know donation was an option. Knowing there were tiny babies fighting for survival every day, I couldn’t bring myself to waste even a single drop.

So I began expressing and storing the extra milk in sterile storage bags, carefully dating and freezing each one. Managing a newborn and the demands of early motherhood wasn’t always easy, but my mother’s constant support kept me going. Even while travelling, I carried a DIY mini-fridge made from a thermocol box and coolants that kept the milk safely chilled for 10 to 12 hours.
With the support of Save Babies, which collected the milk directly from me and handled the logistics, I donated 14 litres of breast milk in two batches.

Breast milk is truly liquid gold. If your baby is well-fed and you have extra milk, please consider donating it. Together, we mothers can help save lives, one drop at a time.

Looking back, I think this decision was shaped by the people who raised me. I was born in Hyderabad and later moved to Kurnool for my father’s business, where I completed my PharmD. As the youngest child and only daughter in my family, I was showered with endless love. Though we faced financial struggles, my family’s love was our real wealth. My father was a true fighter who always stood back up after setbacks. My mother made our education a priority no matter how difficult things became. And my older brother never wanted me to miss out on things he had gone without as a child. Their love, sacrifice, and strength taught me to care deeply for others.”
