“Cricket has been my passion ever since I was a kid. One of my earliest memories is watching the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka at home. I remember the excitement as we burst fireworks, celebrating India’s victory.
Today, I feel incredibly lucky to have attended all of Team India’s matches across the country as part of the Bharat Army, the official Indian Cricket Supporters Group. The 2023 World Cup holds a special place in my heart. I had the surreal experience of traveling to every venue for India’s matches, something I could only dream of, made possible with the support of the BCCI.
Being a cricket fan from Hyderabad, there’s an added pride in supporting the game, especially since our city has such a strong connection to the sport. It’s a tradition that brings people of all ages together, and I’ve always felt a deep connection to that.
My family’s support has been the driving force behind this journey. It was my dad who first bought me tickets for an IPL match at the Uppal stadium. And now, years later, I’m standing beside him at his first International match at Uppal Stadium, watching as part of the Bharat Army. That moment was something I had been waiting for over 15 years.
As India clinched the T20 series 3-0 against Bangladesh, with a record high score, it’s a match we cannot forget for years to come. There’s something special about watching cricket at Uppal Stadium with the Tiranga flag flying high. For me, this journey is about more than just the game —it’s about the spirit of cricket, the memories we make, and the pride of celebrating the spirit of cricket as a fan.”
