“My journey into medicine began with a passion for helping others. Growing up, I was drawn to the field of neurosurgery, inspired by the complexity and beauty of the human brain. My hard work and dedication earned me a spot at Osmania Medical College, where I completed my MBBS. I then pursued a Master’s in General Surgery, where I was a university topper and gold medalist. During my training, I was exposed to various specialties, but it was neurosurgery that truly captivated me. I was fascinated by the intricate procedures and the impact they had on patients’ lives. After completing my Master’s, I specialized in the field of Neurosurgery.
My dedication and perseverance have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Vaidya Ratna award, Vaidya Vibhushan award, and the Best Emerging Neurosurgeon award, which I received from the Honorable Health Minister. These honors motivate me to continue striving for excellence in my field.
Throughout my career, I have performed over 2500 successful brain and spine surgeries, with a success rate of over 95%. There are plenty of wonderful memories, but one that stands out is the case of a 10-year-old boy, the only son of his parents, born after 12 years of their marriage. He came to us with a large blood clot in his brain, and we operated on him at midnight. Seeing him recover completely in just three days was truly satisfying. The thankfulness shown by his parents was unexplainable – it’s moments like these that remind me why I chose this profession and fuel my passion to continue making a difference. One more case that also stands out is the cardiac patient I operated on my birthday. It was a high-risk surgery, but with my team’s support, we achieved a successful outcome. Moments like these remind me of my purpose to continue making a positive difference among people’s lives.
On this National Doctor’s Day, I want to express my gratitude to my patients, family, and colleagues who have supported me throughout my journey. I’m honored to be part of this noble profession that allows me to make a positive impact on people’s lives.”
